If you’ve haven't visited the YouTube website yet, maybe your maiden voyage should be a search through some of the classic car videos folks have posted there. You’ll find videos of car shows, classic commercials, restoration projects and people who are just very proud of their rides. Two videos that stand out in our minds are 'Old Car City' and 'Son gives his Father a Classic Car'.
Old Car City is in White, Georgia and has about 4000 American cars from 1972 and older scattered amongst their forest-like property. The video, 'Old Car City' is a slide show of the various cars located there, and the author has added an appropriate tune to watch it by –George Thorogood’s Bad to the Bone.
'Son gives his Father a Classic Car' is a video of, you guessed it, a son giving his father a classic car - a very nice 1967 Dodge Coronet. But it’s the sentiment behind the gift that makes this a great video to watch. It also has one of our favorite songs playing in the background - Father and Son by Cat Stevens.
YouTube, created in mid-February of 2005, is a video sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. We couldn’t find any recent numbers, but at the time Google bought YouTube in October 2006 for 1.65 Billion dollars, this website had over a 100 million videos viewed every day, and an estimated 72 million individual visitors each month.
Have you posted a video of your classic on YouTube? Let us know - we’d love to see it.
