The 28th Annual Southwestern Unique Little Car Meet

On April 4th, 5th and 6th, the Arizona MINI Club hosted the Annual Southwestern Unique Little Car Show in Prescott Arizona. Over 50 historic cars made it to this years gathering to the delight of the locals, and the many tourists that migrate to the city this time of year.

Prescott is in central Arizona amid the largest stand of Ponderosa Pine in the world. It was also the Territorial Capital of Arizona in 1864 and much of the original architecture has been restored from construction in the late 1800’s. You'll feel like you're taking a walk back in time when strolling down Prescott’s Whiskey Row, situated across the street from the Courthouse plaza. The Unique Little Car Meet participants looked right at home as they came into town – okay, maybe not the Isettas.

To register for the show you needed to meet two criteria – anything that was a small and unique mode of transportation was invited. Marques from America, Europe and Japan were represented by Crosley’s, Isetta’s, Mini’s, Triumphs, Metropolitans and Subaru’s. We’ve put together a photo gallery of most of the cars participating in the event.

The Unique Car Meet founders, Louis and Laural Hudgin, began this get together of little cars twenty eight years ago from their affection for their 1955 Morris Minor Traveller. This car had been in Louis’ family since new. It was purchased to be an errand car for the Hudgin family business, Grand Canyon Airlines, and Louis took ownership when he turned sixteen. Forty years later, the little Morris is still with the Louis and Laural. The May Issue of Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car magazine has a four page article about the Hudgins “Old Blue” Morris Minor Traveller and its history with the family.
