RM Teams With Octane for London Auction
The RM catalog, which is always very professionally done, is usually only seen by those who order it to attend the event - it costs £50.00 ($85.00) and includes admission for two into the auction. But Octane has taken the catalog to a higher level with the online version by making it very interactive, and with links into RM’s website.
In addition, the online catalog has something that the hardcopy version doesn’t; a video that features the well preserved original 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Atalanta going under the hammer and estimated to sell for $1.1 million.
This particular Bugatti is said to be a quite the garage find - it was left in storage for the last 45 years by its owner Macy’s heir John Strauss. Wait a minute, isn’t Jay Leno being sued by the daughter of John Strauss for buying his 1931 Duesenberg that was in storage for 60 years?
Other highlights in the RM London sale and online catalog include one of only three 1932 Bentley short chassis 8-litre Coupes and a superb 1963 Ferrari 250 California Spyder. We think the other contenders to make top sales will go the 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France Berlinetta, 1938 Horch 853 Special Roadster and 1939 Delage D6-3L-S 3-Litre Grand Prix.
The full list of cars for the RM’s Automobiles of London can be found on their website or Octane’s online catalog.
