Classic car tours are for those who seek the road less traveled and prefer to mingle with like-minded individuals who never want to be classified as a tourist. Usually these tours allow you to experience motoring at its best with other beautiful classic cars, fabulous roads, challenging instructions / maps, stunning scenery and delightful accommodations. Tours are also for those who like to visit with the local population who gravitate to the cars at their stopping points.

Generally there are 3 types of tours which you can access:

  1. Tours arranged by your local classic car club which range from a half day, full-day, or an overnight weekend, to tours several days in length. They should be well organized, relatively inexpensive and include activities that appeal to club members. It's a great way to experience touring while getting to know your fellow members and their machines.
  2. Escorted tours arranged by a professional company can be great fun and create camaraderie among the participants. Generally there will be no more than 12 cars (of mixed marques and age) on each tour. Some of the more experienced operators allow a larger number of participants and still manage to make the tours friendly and very personal. Most companies will customize tours so that participants can choose their own level of hotel and restaurants throughout the tour. Tours can extend from a weekend to several weeks and are available around the world.
  3. A tour you arrange yourself and caters to your specific needs and requirements. Generally it is planned around a weekend break where you explore your local area. If you are interested in creating several weeks of travel away from home it would be advisable to contact car clubs in the area to which you are traveling for advice, support and hospitality.

Some tours also offer track days, rallies, and competitive stages for those who can handle this increased level of rigor. Whether you're interested in a cultural adventure, luxury tour or just a weekend away from home, you can include your classic in your travel plans. All well constructed tours are designed around the pleasure of driving wonderful roads, meeting new people and enjoying charming accommodations with secure parking.
