The Headlamps of the 2009 Arizona Auctions

From Tony and Michele Hamer, About.com

One thing that classic cars have that most newer car designs seem to fail at is the use of stylish headlights to bring life and personality to the vehicle. This came to us quite clearly at the 2009 Arizona Classic Car Auctions in Scottsdale.

While photographing and coming face to grill with over a thousand cars in a weeks time, it felt as though we came in contact with the cars personality through its headlamps, like when you look into a persons eyes. We started to really appreciate the thought behind particular designs of not only the headlamp itself, but the chrome framing of it or the front end made specifically to compliment its headlamp.

Whether the car had one light on each side or two lights that were either placed horizontally or vertically of each other, the design seemed to give the car a personality whether it regal, graceful or a downright mean machine.

Subsequently, we put together this photo gallery of headlights with attitude.
