Gordon McCall, with the Quail Lodge, was responsible for arranging a line up of the Great Ferraris of all time and the cars of Bill Devin, an innovator who produced cars into the 1960s through his fiberglass molding process.
While there were numerous brilliant examples of post-war sports cars and pre-war Bugattis, it was the Alfa Romeos and the Delahayes caught our attention. We both settled on the 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B touring car as the best of the show with its wonderful lines and a racing pedigree.
The event was catered by master chefs of the area, and excellent wines from vineyards from around the globe flowed freely. We came away from the afternoon feeling fully satiated by the cars and the hospitality.
