This Pierce Arrow is reported to be owned at one time by song writer George M. Cohan. And, that he wrote the lyrics to the song "Over There" after President Wilson signed the declaration of war with Germany, in this car. The story continues to say that eventually Cohen gave this Peirce Arrow to his chauffer who ran it into the ground and left it in a field in N.J.
In the late 1980s, it was given a comprehensive restoration, and became a class winner at the Pebble Beach Concours d"Elegance. The quality of its restoration is apparent in its longevity, and this is still an outstanding, quality automobile both visually and mechanically. Maybe that's why it sold for $324,500.
