In 1865, Samuel l. Clemens (Mark Twain) penned “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County”, a tall tale of the life and happenings of the gold rush town, Angels Camp. But it wasn’t until May of 1928, that Calaveras County actually had a Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. We checked out the annual event this year and were pleasantly surprised when a very attractive roadster came down Main Street in the kick-off parade. The pristine cream, pumpkin and red body had us searching our brains to identify the marque. Upon closer inspection, we found the name “Gardner” on the running boards. What the heck is a Gardner?
