Restoring Your Classic's Chrome Parts

Taking The Chrome Bits Off The Car

Remove the chrome from your classic carefully to avoid chipping its paint or breaking anything. Save the fasteners in labeled, plastic zip-lock bags so you won't lose them.

As you take the pieces off, label them with a post-it-note, clearly stating what the part is. For example, front passenger door handle.

Lay all the parts out on the floor and photograph them to create a visual record before you send them out. When your parts come back from the plater, you can verify that nothing is missing.
