Studebaker

I have always thought the Studebaker Hawk was great. My favorite was the 1962 Studebaker Gran Turisimo Hawk, with a 4 speed on the floor.

How I got my favorite cars

My neighbor and his cousin went into the Army in 1964. Andy sold his 56 Chevy 210 and ronny sold his wild child 57 Ford on. The street was quiet for 2 years when they returned they bought new 1966 Chevelles. Andy a Marina Blue 325 horsepower SS and Ronny a Black with white interior 350 horsepower 327 Malibu both were four speeds. I moved to southern California and worked with Dennis also a Vietnam vet who bought a new 1966 396 Chevelle when he returned home. His butternut 325 hp Chevelle has been mine now for 28 years. We brought my now 25 year old Coast Guardy son home from the hospital in it. When he was about 3 he told me the car was on fire. What he saw was the Motorola Reverb radio tubes glowing in the box in the trunk. The car was never hot rodded because his other drove it and so did Denny's wife. 89K on the car and it still has the original clutch and smog equipment intact. It is being restored this year.

Lonnies LaMans

When I was 18 I had a 68 LaMans, beige all over with a V8 350, black interior. My Daughter has said she would love to have one just like mine but I have had a really hard time locating one. I know they are rare. Help me if you can... Her 18th birthday is coming up in August.

My Favourite GM Car

All time favourite GM car has to be the 1937 Chevrolet 4 door or 2 door, but will also add the 1939 Chev. 2 door model with the super styling, really a good looker. The 37 was a tank to drive but my wife and I had such happy times when we had one in the early 60's that we have decided it was our best all time buy!

the early corvair models. I loved the 1964 corvair spider convertibles. This car was way ahead of its time.

My favourite GM auto

It was a red 1972 chevy 9 passenger station wagon. Passed everything on the road BUT a gas station. In those days we didn't care about gas economy.

Tell Us Your Favorite GM

The 1958 Corvette, a true classic, beautiful lines, very fast for its time, the small block Chevy engine was made for it,drop dead good looking and the design is truely ageless.

The 47-53 Chevy trucks are to me the most beautiful vehicles GM ever made!

Favorite Chevies

The short block V8 engines of the mid 50's and the sleek styling put GM on top for a long time. The mid 60 GTO and 442's were my next favorite. I will always be a Chevy Man.

My Favoriate GM

My favorite model car produced by GM is the 1967/1968 Pontiac Firebird. The early models had a unibody and were exceptionally sporty with lots of round shaping. Most teased me about not buying a Camaro, the popular car with my generation, but I enjoyed having something "different" and everyone eventually admired my car. I liked the fact that if I broke down on a road trip, I could find what I needed at the local gas station or auto parts store, nothing strange or foreign, just good old USA parts! I also loved the hood tachometer on my 1967 and I do miss wind wings.
