From the article: General Motors - It Wasn't Always This Bad
General Motors has been given a royal bashing in the news and around the dinner table...and deservedly so. But General Motors wasn’t always this bad, in fact from 1920 to well into the 1970’s many of the models that GM produced were cars that most Americans were hoping would someday be in their garage. And if you talk to a classic car enthusiast, that still hasn’t changed. Whether it’s Pontiac’s GTO and Firebird, Chevrolet’s Corvette and Cadillac, Buick’s Riviera and Roadmaster or Oldmobile's Cutlass and Super 88; a GM car will always be close to someone’s heart.
So which GM would you like in your garage? Tell Us Your Favorite GM?

- the early corvair models. I loved the 1964 corvair spider convertibles. This car was way ahead of its time.

My favourite GM auto
- It was a red 1972 chevy 9 passenger station wagon. Passed everything on the road BUT a gas station. In those days we didn't care about gas economy.

Tell Us Your Favorite GM
- The 1958 Corvette, a true classic, beautiful lines, very fast for its time, the small block Chevy engine was made for it,drop dead good looking and the design is truely ageless.

Favorite Chevies
- The short block V8 engines of the mid 50's and the sleek styling put GM on top for a long time. The mid 60 GTO and 442's were my next favorite. I will always be a Chevy Man.

My Favoriate GM
- My favorite model car produced by GM is the 1967/1968 Pontiac Firebird. The early models had a unibody and were exceptionally sporty with lots of round shaping. Most teased me about not buying a Camaro, the popular car with my generation, but I enjoyed having something "different" and everyone eventually admired my car. I liked the fact that if I broke down on a road trip, I could find what I needed at the local gas station or auto parts store, nothing strange or foreign, just good old USA parts! I also loved the hood tachometer on my 1967 and I do miss wind wings.
