For those of you to remember the 1960's American hit TV sitcom, the Andy Griffith Show, and actor Don Knotts who portrays the inept but well-meaning deputy, Barney Fife, should recognize this 1963 Ford Galaxie squad car.

This vehicle was redesigned to accompany Mick Kieffer, one of the nation's leading Barney Fife impersonators, and has been autographed by the late Don Knotts. It was featured on 2 magazine covers: "Rod and Custom" and "Good Guys Gazette" and made appearances in a variety of movies,TV shows and rock videos. This is a functional "Squad" car powered by a 289cid V8 with a Cruise-O-Matic transmission.

Still, the bidding that brought the hammer down at $121,000 was quite unexpected.
